Hallo zusammen. Hab mich mal da poetisch ins Zeug gelegt.
Nur weiss ich dann nie vor lauter Reime, ob die Grammatik bzw. die Wortwahl stimmt.
was meint ihr, passt dies so?
*There was an old Santa on his way
who had too many parcels on his sleigh.
The parcels fell out, so he turned back without
all the gifts for the children to play.*
müsste es heissen "to play with"? das wäre ziemlich schade...
oder evtl. "all the gifts MENT for the children to play"?

ich würde schreiben -the parcels fell off............ und vielleicht -all those gifts that were meant for the children to play. (das play versteht man auch ohne das ‚with‘).

natürlich heisst es OFF! wie doof von mir. Habe da den Limerick angepasst:
There was an old Santa on his way
who had too many parcels on his sleigh.
The parcels fell off... Oh, poor Santa, that’s tough:
No toys for christmas for children for play!
(This year there’s no toy for the children to play!)
in Klammern eine alternative Zeile.
Passt es nun besser? Das ganze muss ja in den Rhythmus passen, das ist die Krux.
