hier ist, was mein israelischer Korrespondenzpartner dazu meint:
The first name reads יהשוע
This name is Yehoshua [i.e., Joshua] .
A better, usual spelling of this name should be: יהושע
so, the vav should be placed after the he, and not after the shin.
The second name, סימון, is Simon, and it is spelled correctly.
This is the Hebrew common spelling of the name for the French pronunciation of that name; if it is to render the American Simon, it should be spelled סיימון, i.e., with two yod's after the samekh.
