Warum in aller Welt nennen Litauer Deutschland ausgerechnet vokstevitische oder so ähnlich?Ich finde werder Sermanen noch Alemannen noch Sachsen noch sonstige germanische stääme in dem wort .
deutschland heißt "Vokietija". die litauische sprache ist eine baltische Sprache, zu denen noch Lettisch gehört. Die baltischen Sprachen gehören zu den ältesten indo-europäischen Sprachen, wenn ich das richtig weiß

There are many dialects also in Lithuania. One of them belongs to Zemaiciai. Long ago when Germans came to Lithuania, they had strong helms. When zemaiciai where beating thourgh the helm, certainly, nothing was happening to germans. So, in dialect zemaiciai were telling: "vot kiets!". That means:"so strong". Also, later came a name for german "vokietis" and the land "Vokietija". I hope, I could help You.;)
