I would never start to smoke, my dad was a smoker and I hated his smell.

When he came home from work in the evening we noticed this cold gruesome smell My mother was angry with him.

My mother has told me that she tried a non filter cigarette with a friend when she was 14.

Afterwards she felt sick and ever since then she has never touched a cigarette again.

I think it's important to think of your health.

Smoking is bad for your health and this is the reason why I would never start to smoke.

The skin and nails change and also your teeth.

Also the risk of lung cancer increases.

But most of all I hate the cold smell, the clothes and the hair stink.

What I like about Austria are the non smoking zones in public places because non smokers are also passive smokers.

I'm convinced that many kids smoke because they want to be cool and desperately want to belong to a certain group.

Some also think that it's a symbol for being mature and others think that this gives them more self confidence.

This is why parents should be a good example to their children.

I don't have the urge to smoke when I am with kids my age who are smoking.

I have asked some friends and they told me why they smoke: a girl said that she thinks it funny and she doesn't want to miss anything in her life.

Another girl said: " I don't know why, I guess it's because I'm bored."

A friend said:" it calmes me down when I'm angry".

Two other girls told me why they don't smoke: "there is no point, "you taste like an ashtray, boys don't want to kiss girls who stink of smoke."

I think that everyone has to make this decision for himself, also for his own life.
